Biography

Born November 2, 1923 in a peasant family.

He graduated from high school in 1941.

Drafted into the army in June 1941. In 1942 he graduated from the Uryupinsk military infantry school (transferred to Nalchik). In the battles of World War II from February 1942. He fought on the Crimean, Stalingrad, Western, Belorussian, 1st Belorussian, 3rd Baltic, again 1st Belorussian fronts. He joined the CPSU (b) / CPSU in 1944. Four times wounded.

Since the spring of 1943, Captain M.F. Kudachkin fought in the 601th Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Infantry Division as commander of the 1st Battalion.

He participated in the Smolensk-Roslavl offensive operation and the liberation of the cities of Yartsevo and Smolensk , the Kalinkovichi-Mozyr operation , the Belarusian strategic offensive operation Bagration , the Baltic offensive operation and the liberation of Riga, the Wislo-Oder strategic offensive operation , the Berlin strategic offensive operation and the storming of Berlin .

He liberated the Smolensk region, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, fought in Germany.

Particularly distinguished himself in the Berlin operation. The commander of the battalion of the 601th rifleman of the regiment of the 82nd rifle division, Captain M.F. Kudachkin, skillfully organized a breakthrough of the enemy defenses on the left bank of the Oder River on April 15, 1945, and in the evening captured the towns of Ortwig and Neubarnim (10 kilometers west of the city of Vritzen, Germany) . At a station on the outskirts of Berlin, a battalion of I.F. Kudachkin captured 4 military depots and freed 22,000 Soviet and allied prisoners of war.

The battalion was the first to enter the outskirts of Berlin. Having overcome Lake Havel, he broke into the Spandau fortress, giving the opportunity for other units to attack the center of Berlin.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 15, 1946, Mikhail Fedorovich Kudachkin was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 2873).

Since 1946, Major M.F. Kudachkin is in stock. In 1951 he graduated from the Institute of International Relations, in 1955 - from the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU. He became a prominent scientist in the field of the history of Latin American countries and revolutionary movements in these countries. For a long time he was in responsible party work, worked in the international journal Problems of Peace and Socialism, was the head of the Latin American sector in the international department of the CPSU Central Committee.

He lived in Moscow. He died on October 8, 2010 [2] . He was buried in Moscow at the Troekurovsky cemetery (in some sources, the Kuntsevsky cemetery was mistakenly indicated [3] ).
