A. Fedoruk began to play checkers regularly since 1958 and already in 1961 he became a master of sports in Russian drafts. In 1964, he fulfilled the standard of the master on hundred-cell drafts.

Member of 5 finals of the USSR championship in international drafts - 1964.1967.19.1973.1979. Champion of the Central Administration of the DSO "Labor" 1975 and 1981 Repeated winner of the Moscow championships in international drafts): 5 times became the second and 4 times finished third. He played for the national teams of Moscow (since 1961) and the Central Administration of the DSO “Trud” (since 1964). As part of the Torpedo team, ZIL was the winner of the 1988 All-Union Trade Union Championship of Trade Unions

A. Fedoruk began to study the drafts composition in 1958 (the first publication in the Trud newspaper, September 13, 1958). Until 1963, it was only combination endings. After the appearance of I. Moser's book “Drafts Endgame” he became interested in etudes 64 and 100, and it was in this genre that he was able to achieve the greatest success. He overcame the boundary of a master of sports in drafts composition in 1968, and in 1992 became the second international grandmaster of the former USSR (after V. Matus ).
