Content

History

The settlement, from which the city later grew, was originally part of the city of Bignan and was called Bukol. Later Bukol was renamed several times. The modern name of the city is associated with the name of the Holy Rose of Lim . On January 15, 1792, Santa Rosa was granted the status of a municipality. July 10, 2004 , according to the Republican law number 9264, Santa Rosa received city status.

Geographical position

The city is located in the southwestern part of the island of Luzon , on the shore of Lake Laguna de Bai , at a distance of approximately 30 kilometers south-southeast (SSE) from the capital city of Manila and covers an area of ​​54.15 km². The absolute height is 14 meters above sea ​​level [1] .
