History
It was founded at the end of the 17th century by Cossacks transferred here from Urensk (now the village of Bazarny Uren ) to carry out security service. Originally - a settlement on White Lake, hence the name. Soon, the Cossacks were resettled in the city of Azov, and Belozerye, by decree of Peter the Great, was transferred to private hands. In the mid-19th century, the princes Trubetskoy owned it, having over 6 thousand acres of land here. In addition to peasant labor, the inhabitants of Belozerye were engaged in the manufacture of bast products. Women were famous throughout the district as skilled needlewomen (knitted, embroidered, weaved). There was a wooden Church of the Epiphany, built in 1873 (not preserved), an old manor and a large stud farm of the Princes Trubetskoys, parochial and zemstvo schools (before them there was an elementary school in 1867). In 1930, the Golden Sheaf, Wave of Revolution, and other collective farms were organized in the village. In January 1970, the Belozersky state farm was established (closed around 2010).
