Criticism. Art Evaluation
Usman Avang wrote:
| “Zurina Hassan made a significant contribution to the development of Malay poetry. She brought the depth of images to the Malay language, breathed life into her lines. Her tongue captures, it is poetic and harmonious ” [4] . |
The Malaysian poet Baha Zain describes the work of Zurina Hassan in this way:
| “The questions that the poetess raises are closely related to her feelings as a woman with a tender soul. But she is by no means simple. She is a thinker and an attentive observer of her own life and the life of her family, the relationship between a woman and a man, the life of society as a whole. Everything that she sees and experiences, what she thinks about, she philosophically passes through her emotions and feelings. She is not in a hurry to pronounce negative phenomena, although she does not accept them, but is trying to sort them out and find a reason for them. She puts her “no” in the soft clothes of a woman’s heart ” [5] . |
