After the change of power in Ukraine, he supported the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation . April 2, 2014 became the first deputy of the Yalta mayor [2] , not having folded deputy powers. In April received Russian citizenship. On May 13, the Verkhovna Rada did not satisfy his statement on the resignation of parliamentary powers. On June 6, 2014, he left the Party of Regions faction and became a member of the For Peace and Stability deputy group. At a press conference on September 18, 2014, he announced the resignation of parliamentary powers in connection with the first elections in Crimea as a constituent entity of the Russian Federation [3] , but until the end of the work of the Verkhovna Rada of the VII convocation, the deputy’s powers were not officially terminated.
Since August 20, 2014 he took the post of deputy of the Yalta mayor. November 7, 2016 filed a letter of resignation, which was adopted by the Head of Administration Andrei Rostenko [4] .

Family
Married, four children from first and second marriages. From the first - son and daughter. He met his second wife Larisa in Yalta. She is from Dnepropetrovsk. Together they bring up daughter Masha (daughter of Larisa from her first marriage) and son Ivan. Braiko already has an adult grandson, Daniel.
