Biography

Mikhail Dyuzhev was born in 1918 in a village Tropino (now - Kochenevsky district of the Novosibirsk region ) in a peasant family. He graduated from junior high school. Since 1931 he lived in the city of Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo region , worked as an electrician at the Koksovaya-2 mine. In 1939 - 1941 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, already in the same 1941 he was re-drafted into the army. Since September of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By July 1944, Sergeant Mikhail Dyuzhev commanded a division of machine gunners of the 240th Infantry Regiment of the 117th Infantry Division of the 69th Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . Distinguished during the liberation of Poland [1] .

On the night of July 28-29, 1944, Dyuzhev’s branch was the first to cross the Vistula River near the city of Kazimierz Dolny and seize the bridgehead . The enemy launched a series of counterattacks, but the squad successfully held its positions until reinforcements arrived. In the battle, Dyuzhev was wounded, but continued to fight [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 27, 1945, Sergeant Mikhail Dyuzhev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

In 1945, the rank of senior sergeant Dyuzhev was demobilized. He returned to Prokopyevsk. He graduated from the Kemerovo regional party school, after which he worked as deputy secretary of the party committee of the Koksovaya-2 mine, a refrigeration engineer. He died in 1973 [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .

On May 29, 2017, one of the Nameless peaks of the Kuznetsk Alatau was named after him [2] .
