The coat of arms of the disappeared city of Lugan - the former county town, the center of the Lugansk district of Oryol governorship . [1] (Since 1782 - the village, since 1967 completely abolished.)

Emblem Description

In the upper half of the shield is the coat of arms of Orlovsky , in the lower “is a ram in a green field, which the great bargain inhabitants conduct at their annual fairs .”

Coat of Arms History

The historical coat of arms of Lugani was highly approved on August 16, 1781 by Empress Catherine II, together with other emblems of the cities of Oryol Viceroyalty (PSZRI, 1781, Law No. 15207). [2] [3]

The original description of the coat of arms of the county town of Lugani read:

"Baran, in the green field, with which the great bargaining is done by the townsfolk at their annual fairs.

In the upper part is the coat of arms of Oryol governorship .

In Soviet times, the historical coat of arms of Lugani was not used.
