Kuruman Afrik. Kuruman is a town in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The city is a tourist attraction due to its picturesque natural landscapes, among which “Kurumansky Eye” stands out - a place where underground waters reach the surface of the Kalahari Desert .
The river Kuruman is named after the town (most of the year is a dry riverbed, it is flooded only during the flood).

In 1821, Robert Moffat of the London Missionary Society founded the mission here. Here in 1841, David Livingstone arrived as a missionary.
The city has a base of Peace Corps volunteers [1] .
The population of the city in 2001 was 9824 people, of which 4267 (43.4%) were “ colored ”, 3549 (36.1%) were white, 1969 (20.0%) were black. The most common everyday language is Afrikaans 80.68%, followed by Tswana - 14.8% [2] .
