Vampire Academy (film)

In the USA, in the heart of Montana, there is an Academy where vampires learn the art of magic. There are bloody vampire wars in the world, and the tribe of strigoi , vampires who crossed the line of the law, confronts the race of moraines . Even the walls of the Academy are not too protective against dark forces. The young Moroccan princess Vasilisa (Lissa) and Rosa, her friend and faithful guardian-damper, are once convinced of this. Lissa and Rosa fled the Academy due to a warning from Sonya Karp, a teacher who arbitrarily became a strig (an evil vampire that kills people), which everyone considers abnormal. At school, they cannot merge with their usual lives due to bullying of classmates and developing love relationships: Lissa fell in love with a classmate who does not fit her status, and Rose in her mentor Dmitry, also a dumpier, who is much older than her. Meanwhile, ill-wishers throw Lisa dead animals to learn about her strength - the spirit that allows you to heal people and bring them back to life from the dead. It turns out that Lissa returned Rose. Lissa is abducted by Victor Dashkov, it turns out that his daughter Natalya threw up the corpses of animals to Lissa to reveal her strength. Rosa, who saw Lissa through their connection that arose as a result of the resurrection, hurries to Dmitry. Once in his room, she kisses him, succumbing to the action of the coercive necklace that Victor gave her. At the last moment, once in their underwear, they stop. Dmitry was able to overcome the power of the spell, and they hurried after Lissa. During the fight, Lissa's power became well-known, Victor was locked in a chamber in the Academy. Rosa comes to see him, but Natalia follows her, who has turned into a strigoi. Only the intervention of Dmitry saves the girl's life.

The title soundtrack to the film is a cover version of the song by Bauhaus Bela Lugosi's Dead, performed in its style synth-pop trio Chvrches .

The release received a rather restrained response.

Only one sensation does not leave after listening to Bela Lugosi's Dead performed by Chvrches - the aftertaste is still sweet. But this is the essence of the modern indie industry - its audience is surprisingly wide, and the masses do not like dubious tones and dark shades. And if Bauhaus can be compared with strong black coffee, then Chvrches will be pulled on no doubt delicious, but still cocoa.
