Crater Description
The crater is located on the northeastern edge of Lake of Sorrows . Its closest neighbors are Yangel Crater in the west-south-west; Sulpicius Gall crater in the northeast; Menelaus crater in the east and Manilius crater in the south [1] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 8.1 km [2] , depth 1.1 km [3] .
Unlike craters of similar size, which are usually cup-shaped, the crater has a flat bottom of the bowl. The height of the shaft above the surrounding area is 300 m [4] . The volume of the crater is approximately 20 km³ [4] .
Prior to its renaming in 1973, the crater was called the satellite crater Manilius A.
