Biography
Ivan Dyachenko was born on November 7, 1921 in the village of Novopetropavlovka (now Karazhar, Atbasar district, Akmola region of Kazakhstan ) into a peasant family. He graduated from the Buzuluk Pedagogical College. In 1940, Dyachenko was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1942 he graduated from the Chkalov Military Aviation Pilot School. Since May of that year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By November 1944, Captain Ivan Dyachenko commanded a squadron of the 237th assault air regiment of the 305th assault air division of the 15th Air Army of the 2nd Baltic Front . By that time, he had made 100 sorties, took part in a series of air battles, in which he shot down 3 enemy aircraft. Also destroyed 13 enemy aircraft during the attack of enemy airfields [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 18, 1945, Captain Ivan Dyachenko was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
After the war, Dyachenko continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1948, he graduated from the Air Force Academy , after which he remained a teacher in it. In 1961, with the rank of colonel, Dyachenko was sacked. He lived in Moscow , died on December 14, 1962 [1] , and was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow.
He was also awarded the orders of the Red Banner , Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree, two orders of the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
