Jean-Francois Barrière ( French: Jean-François Barrière ; May 12, 1786 , Paris - August 22, 1868 ) - French historian , author of “ Tableaux de genre et d'histoire ” (1828) and “ La cour et la ville sous Louis XIV, XV et XVI ”(1829) and a number of other historical studies.

Biography
Jean-Francois Barrier served for eighteen years in the prefecture of the French capital and rose through the ranks to the head of the department, but after the revolution of 1848 he was removed from his post and was forced to resign.
As a historian, he wrote a lot about the French Revolution, in particular, he wrote a detailed biography of Madame Roland . In 1827, he also edited and published the works of Honore de Balzac .
