EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) is an accreditation system for higher education institutions specializing in business management and management, created by the European Foundation for Management Development ( EFMD ).
Often EQUIS is perceived as the European version of the American AACSB , or the equivalent of the prestigious AMBA accreditation.
Initially, EQUIS was created to confirm quality in the context of a wide range of significantly different European education systems.
“The task of EQUIS is not to unify qualifications (degrees) or standardize the content of curricula. Obviously, each country has its own traditional approach to business education ... Equis is based on the principles of recognition and confirmation of the strengths of various national systems. ”
The most prestigious European business schools are seeking EQUIS accreditation.
In Russia, the first institutional accreditation of EQUIS was received by GSOM SPbU [1] . In June 2019, the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo received international accreditation EQUIS EFMD [2] .
