Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Karklina ( Karklina , Karklins , Latvian. Nadežda Kārkliņa , nee Tikhonova ; February 25, 1878 , Tiflis - May 26, 1943 , Riga ) - Latvian pianist and music teacher.
Biography
She graduated from the gymnasium in Tiflis and the St. Petersburg Conservatory (1906) in piano, Sophia Malozyomova .
In 1906 - 1919 taught piano in the classes of the Imperial Russian Musical Society in Samara (now the Samara School of Music ), in 1907 she married class directors Jekaba Karklin , with whom she left for Latvia in 1920 . After a divorce in 1931 , she retained her husband's surname.
In the first years in Latvia, she taught in private schools, since 1927 at the Latvian Conservatory , since 1938 a professor. In the 1930s was considered the best piano teacher in the country. Among her students are Wolfgangs Darzins , Hermanis Browns , Nikolai Fedorovsky, as well as her own daughter Marina Karklina-Olava.
She was buried at the Pokrovsky cemetery in Riga .
