Biography
Vladimir Dushein was born on July 3, 1912 in the village of Lukino (now the Sharinsky District of the Kostroma Region ). After graduating from elementary school he worked in logging. From 1934 he lived in the village named after Kalinin of the Vetluzhsky district of the Gorky region , worked at a local cardboard factory. In 1942, Dushein was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since June of the same year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. He participated in the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR , Poland , the crossing of Sana and the Vistula , the liberation of Krakow . By April 1945, the guard corporal Vladimir Dushein was an engineer of the 33rd Guards separate motor-engineering battalion of the 3rd Guards motor-engineering brigade of the 4th Guards Tank Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . Distinguished during the Berlin operation [1] .
On April 28, 1945, Dushein along with his branch was one of the first to cross the Havel River in the Potsdam region. Picking up on the shore faustprony , he destroyed four enemy firing points. In the battlefield on the bridgehead, he knocked out two tanks , and then, using a captured machine gun , opened fire on enemy infantry. Dushein's actions contributed to the successful crossing of other divisions across the river. On May 1, while completing the defeat of an enemy force group located in the forest, Dushein and a friend broke through into the enemy rear and opened fire with machine guns, destroying more than 20 enemy soldiers and officers, and another 40 were captured [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945, the corporal Vladimir Dushein was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star ” , number 7856 [1] .
After the war, Dushein was demobilized. He returned to the village of Kalinin, worked as an electrician at a cardboard factory. Later he moved to Gorky , worked at the Gorky Automobile Plant . Subsequently, he returned to the village named after Kalinin, was the head of the equestrian wagon train of the timber industry enterprise, and the head of the fire and security guard of the cardboard factory. Died July 1, 1989 , buried in the village named Kalinin [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree, a number of medals, as well as the Czechoslovak Military Cross and the Order of the GDR "For Services to the Fatherland" 3rd degree [1] .
