From about 1832 he worked as a mechanic at the cloth manufactory of the Moscow merchant P. M. Alexandrov in p. Bryn Zhizdrinsky County Kaluga province . In 1834, he invented a mechanical loom for the production of cloth of great width and in 1834–1835. installed 20 of these machines in the factory Alexandrova. Each machine did up to 40 beats per minute and produced better quality cloth than the usual hand.
Similar machines in Western Europe (Germany) appeared only after 4 years.
