Merenivka is a village in the Starodubsky district of the Bryansk region of Russia . It is part of the Desyatukhovsky rural settlement . It is located 2 km east of Starodub , on the right bank of the Babinets river, not far from its confluence with the Wablya .

History
The history of the village begins at the beginning of the 17th century. In 1797, the stone church of Elijah the Prophet was built in Merenovka (closed in 1932, not preserved). In 1867, an elementary school was opened at the church. In the post-reform period, part of the landowner land in Merenovka was sold out. One of the new owners was Peter Yakovlevich Samokvasov, the brother of the professor of law and famous archaeologist Dmitry Yakovlevich Samokvasov , who studied archaeological sites in the vicinity of Merenivka and neighboring Levenka . P.Ya. Samokvasov had an oil mill and a water mill on the river. Babinets. Privy Councilor Modest Pavlovich Minin (died in 1901) and his wife Sofia Yakovlevna, nee Samokvasova (died in 1906), sister D.Ya. were buried at the local cemetery. and P.Ya. Samokvasov.
In the middle of the XX century. - collective farms "Red armored car", "Red Rakita". From 1919 to the 1930s, it was the center of the Merenovsky Village Council, then until 1973 in the Levensky Village Council, in 1973-2005 in the Krasnooktyabrsky Village Council. The maximum number of inhabitants is 700 people (1901).
Village Today
It is located on the highway Starodub - Pogar , which is the main street of the village (asphalt). Center of the Merenovsky branch of TNV Krasny Oktyabr, here is located one of the dairy farms of the economy, the mechanical yard. The village is gasified, a store is operating, a first-aid post is functioning. Near the western outskirts of Merenivka there is a field of the former Starodub airfield, where the aviation of the local flying club is now based.
