Sherifabad ( Persian شريف اباد ) is a rural settlement in the north-west of Iran , in the province of Qazvin . It is part of the Elborz shahrestan .

Geography
The village is located in the central part of the province, approximately 13 kilometers east-southeast (ESE) from Qazvin , the provincial capital, and 100 kilometers northwest of Tehran , the country's capital. The absolute height is 1278 meters above sea level [1] .

According to the 2006 census, the population of Sheriffabad was 16,551 people [2] .
