Akylbaev, Zhambyl Saulebekovich

In 1960, he graduated from high school in the village of Aksu-Ayuly , in 1965 - the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Karaganda State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in physics and general engineering, in 1968 - graduate school at the S.S. Kirov ^[3]. Comes from a subgenus Kearney of the Karakesek genus of the Argyn tribe ^[4] .

He worked at the same institute (from 1972 - Karaganda University) as a teacher, head of the department, deputy dean, dean of the faculty of physics, vice-rector for scientific and educational work ^{[3] [5]} .

In 1986-1991 - rector of the Guryev Pedagogical Institute ^{[3] [5]} . During this period, the material base of the institute was significantly improved: the student canteen “Kurdastar” (1986), a sports complex with a swimming pool (1988), a student dormitory for 400 people (1988), a 70-apartment staff house (1989) were put into operation; Faculty of Physical Education was established (1988); the construction of the second academic building began (1989) ^[6] .

In 1991-2004 he was the rector of Karaganda State University ^[3] . During this period, a block-rating system of student control, international inter-university exchange has been introduced; The university was accepted into the Eurasian Association of Universities (1995), became a collective member of the International Academy of Higher Education. Since 1996, Zh. S. Akylbaev was a member of the International Association of University Rectors ^[5] .

In 2004-2007 - President of the Karaganda Institute of Actual Education "Bolashak" ^[7] .

In February 2005, on his initiative, the “Balkhash College of Actual Education of Academician Zh. S. Akylbaev” was created ^[8] .

He was a people's deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the regional council of the cities of Karaganda and Guriev.
