Servigliano Aquino y Aguilar ( Spanish: Servillano Aquino y Aguilar , April 20, 1874 - February 3, 1959 ), also known as Servigliano "Mianong" Aquino - a military and political leader of the Philippines, a member of the Philippine Revolution (1896-1898) and the Filipino-American war (1898-1902). The father of Benigno Aquino Sr. , the grandfather of Benigno Aquino Jr. and the great-grandfather of the former (2010-2016) President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III .

Biography

Born in Angeles , Pampanga province, in the family of Don Braulio Aquino and Petrona Ipolito Aguilar [1] . He received his primary education at home, from a private tutor, after which he moved to Manila, where he graduated from a Catholic college and subsequently from the University of St. Thomas . In 1896, Aquino joined the secret patriotic organization Katipunan . He was elected mayor of the city of Murcia (province of Tarlac ), after which he took part in the hostilities against American troops under the command of General Francisco Macabulos received the rank of major. In the battle near the volcano Arayat on the island of Luzon, he was defeated. After the signing of the Biak-na-Bato Pact in December 1897, between the governor general of the Philippines and the rebel leader Emilio Aguinaldo S. Aquino was exiled to Hong Kong along with Aguinaldo and the revolutionary government. In 1898, S. Aquino returned to the Philippines and joined the parts of Antonio Luna who fought against US troops. He was a member of the Constitutional Assembly of the Philippines . As part of A. Luna’s units, S. Aquino participated in the assault on Manila, but after their defeat in September 1902 he was captured by the Americans and was sentenced to death by hanging . Two years later, US President Theodore Roosevelt pardoned S. Aquino with his decree. After his release, S. Aquino did not participate in political life.

He died on February 3, 1959 from a heart attack.

Personal life

He was married to Guadalupe Chiambao, in this marriage they had three children: Gonzalo (1893), Benigno (1894) - a famous Filipino politician, and Amando (1896). After the death of Guadalupe, Servigliano married sister-in-law Belen Sanchez, in this marriage they had a son, Erminio (b. 1949), Filipino politician and businessman.

Erminio was born when his father, Servigliano, was 75 years old, a year and a half after the death of his older brother Benigno Aquino, Sr.
