Pshap ( Abkh. Ԥshiaԥ , cargo. ფშაფი ) is a village in Abkhazia , in the Gulrypsh region of the partially recognized Republic of Abkhazia , according to the administrative division of Georgia - in the Gulripshsky municipality of the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic [1] , on the shore of the Sukhumi Bay of the Black Sea , south of the district center - Gulrypsha .

Population
In 1959, 515 people lived in the village of Pshap, mainly Georgians and Armenians [5] . In 1989, 1038 people lived in the village [4] , also mainly Georgians and Armenians [6] . According to the 2011 census, the population of the rural settlement (rural administration) of Pshap amounted to 2582 residents, of whom 89.3% are Armenians (2305 people), 8.1% are Abkhazians (209 people), 1.0% are Russians (26 people), 0.8% - Georgians (21 people), 0.4% - Greeks (10 people), 0.2% - Ukrainians (4 people), 0.3% - others (7 people) [7] .
