The 4th Cannes Film Festival of 1951 , held from April 3 to 20 in Cannes, France. Since 1951, the festival has been held annually every spring. The only failure occurred in 1968 , in connection with the well-known strikes throughout Europe. The festival was canceled, although only five days remained before its end. Participants were left without awards.
