Semenets is an unofficial name for the historical district of St. Petersburg , limited on four sides by Zabalkansky (now Moskovsky ) Avenue, Obvodny Canal, Zagorodny Prospect and Vvedensky Canal. The name comes from the settlement of the Life Guards of the Semenovsky Regiment, which lodged here in the 18th century .

Semencov includes six streets named after the cities of the Moscow province: Ruzovskaya , Mozhayskaya , Vereyskaya , Podolskaya , Serpukhovskaya , Bronnitskaya , Klinsky and Malodetskoselsky avenues crossing them, as well as two lanes: Bataysky and Doinikov. Street names are easily remembered with the help of the saying: "Can You Believe the Empty Words of a Ballerina?" The historical building of the turn of the XIX century prevails.
