The University of South Africa , (the University of South Africa , abbreviated as Unisa , Unisa ) is the largest university in the African continent, in which a third of all students in South African universities study (about 300 thousand from 130 countries). It is not included in all university ratings, as it specializes mainly (but not only) in distance education. The main campus is located in Pretoria .
It offers both professional and higher education up to doctoral degrees. Many of the university's programs have received international accreditation.
History
It was founded in 1873 under the name Cape of Good Hope University , en: University of the Cape of Good Hope .
