Shtander is the fifth album of the Creole Tango Orchestra , recorded in 2007 at the legendary Abby Road Studios in London . The album included mostly new songs by Andrei Makarevich (" Time Machine ").

Andrei Makarevich:
It all started with the fact that I realized that the only music that I listen to today without annoyance is American pop-jazz vocal music of the 40s and 50s: Diana Washington, Chet Becker, Ella Fitzgerald. This music is full of beautiful melodies, which in today's world are clearly lacking, amazing arrangements, orchestras, live sound ... All this inspired me to write songs for “Shtander”. I did not call it a classic vocal-jazz album, I understand perfectly well that I am not a jazz singer, and I never will be, but from the combination of a live swing game and what I do, it seems to me that something new and interesting.
