Michelangelo Falvetti ( Italian: Michelangelo Falvetti ; December 29, 1642 , Melikucca , Calabria - 1692 , Messina ) - Italian composer of the early Baroque era, as well as a Catholic priest . Falvetti was born in the village of Melikucca in the province of Calabria in southern Italy on December 29, 1642 , however, he spent most of his life and musical career in Sicily.

In 1670 he became a bandmaster in Palermo , and in 1679 he founded a music society in this city.

Around 1682, the composer moved to the city of Messina , where he was appointed bandmaster. Falvetti died there in 1692 .
