Since 1924 he was engaged in teaching activities. From 1931 to 1937 he led the workshop of drama directors at the Leningrad Institute of Performing Arts. He staged performances in theaters of Romania and Korea . Member of the CPSU since 1952 [1] .

Biography
Born on January 16 ( January 28 according to the new style) in 1899 in St. Petersburg. In 1917 he graduated from the 1st St. Petersburg Gymnasium [2] .
Member of the revolutionary movement and civil war. In 1919-1920 he served in the ranks of the Red Army [3] .
In 1924 he graduated from the School of Russian Drama in Petrograd (class of N. N. Arbatov and V. Ya. Sofronov ).
In 1922-1931 - an actor, then - director of the BDT .
In 1931-1937 - artistic director and director of the Leningrad Mobile Theater of Comedy.
In 1937-1941 - director and artistic director of the Regional Far Eastern Theater ( Khabarovsk ).
In 1941-1944, he was the director of the Estrada Theater ( Alma-Ata ) and the main director of the acting group of the Central Concert Hall .
In 1945-1948 - Director and actor of the Kiev film studio and artistic director of the School of film actors at the Kiev film studio.
Since 1949 - Director of the Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin ( Leningrad ).
He died on June 7, 1967 in Leningrad.
