Population
According to the statistical compilation "Rural settlements of the Yaroslavl region on January 1, 2007", 28 people live in the village of Varegovo [1] . According to the topographic map of 1975, 18 people lived in the village [3] .
Geography
The village is located east of the regional center of Bolshoye Selo , south of the Varegov swamp . She stands on the highway from Yaroslavl to the Big Village. At a distance of about 3 km west of Varegovo, in the direction of the Big Village, on the road stands the village of Ilyitsino . At a distance of about 6 km in the opposite direction on the road stands the village of Glebovo . To the southeast of Varegovo is a relatively small Yakimovsky swamp . In Varegovo there is a geodetic sign with a height mark of 145.7 m. 2 km south of Varegovo is a field where the village of Bakino previously stood [3] [4] .
History
The village of Varegova is indicated on the general survey plan of the Borisoglebsky district of 1792. In 1825, Borisoglebsky district was merged with Romanovsky district . According to 1859, the village belonged to the Romanovo-Borisoglebsky district [5] .
