According to the statistical collection “Rural settlements of the Yaroslavl region on January 1, 2007,” 3 people live in the village of Botvino [1] .
Geography
The village is located in the southern part of the rural settlement, to the south of the village of Novoe , in the basin of the small river Svintsovka , which flows 1.5 km east of Botvino. From the village of Novoe from north to south to the village of Botvino, the main road in this part of the rural settlement. At a distance of about 2 km north of Botvino, to the east of the road, stands the village of Ivantsevo . At a distance of about 1 km north-west of Botvino stands the village of Stepantsevo . All three villages are on the same field, surrounded by forests. At a distance of about 1.5 km to the east of the village on the left bank of Svintsovka are the villages of Kontalovo and Mintikhino . To the south of the village, for about 8 km, there is a swamp forest, in which there are sources of the Svintsovka and Levonka rivers. Behind it begin the fields and settlements along the Moloksha River, belonging to the south to the Slobodsky rural settlement of the Uglichsky district , and to the southeast of the Bolsheselsky rural settlement of the Bolsheselsky district. In this direction in the forest there are several tracts, fields corresponding to the former villages, from north to south: Mitino [3] , Pochinki [4] (villages of Large and Small Pochinki), Bykovo [5] , Bekrenevo [6] . To the west of the village, a swamp forest follows for about 4 km, followed by fields and settlements of the Slobodsky rural settlement of the Uglich district in the valley of the Kisma river and its tributaries [7] .
