The village of Basalaev is indicated on the plan of the General land survey of the Rybinsk district of 1798.
Population
According to the statistical compilation “Rural settlements of the Yaroslavl region as of January 1, 2007”, there are no permanent residents in the village of Basalaevo [1] .
Geography
The village is located in the north of the district, near the border with the Rybinsk district , at a distance of about 1.5 km from the left bank of the Cheryemukha River . This is one of the last settlements of the Bolsheselsky district down the left bank of the river. east of Balalaevo, on the bank of Cheryomukha, the village of Elokhovo Elokhovo is compactly located, as well as the villages of Ilyinskoye and Golovinskoye . On the right bank of the Cheryemuhi, in front of these settlements, is the village of Demidovo . Basalaevo and the four named settlements are located in one field surrounded by forests. To the west of this field, behind a small swampy forest, the extensive Great Moss swamp begins, in which intensive peat extraction was carried out under Soviet rule [3] .
