Babaevo is a village in the Blagoveshchensk rural settlement of the Bolsheselsky district of the Yaroslavl region [2] .

Geography
The village is located southeast of the regional center of Big Village . It stands west of the vast peat mining region of the Varegovo swamp . The village is located in the southwest of a relatively large (for a generally forested area) field stretching for 6 km from the village of Gorki , located northwest of Andreevsky to the village of Tikhanovo . About 2 km east of the village is a large village, formerly called Village No. 2 of the Varegovsky Peat Company, and recently renamed to Old Varegovo . Between the village and the village to the north-east is the village of Shulgino , south of Babaevo - Sinkovo and southeast of Tikhanovo. To the west of the village is an extensive marshy forest [3] .
History
The village of Babaev is indicated on the plan of the General Land Survey of Borisoglebsky Uyezd in 1792. In 1825, Borisoglebsky district was merged with Romanovsky district . According to 1859, the village belonged to the Romanovo-Borisoglebsky district [4] .

According to the statistical compilation “Rural settlements of the Yaroslavl region as of January 1, 2007”, there are no permanent residents in the village of Babaevo [1] .
