Network Rail is a British company, owner and operator of railway infrastructure in the UK (with the exception of Northern Ireland). Serves companies in the market of passenger and freight traffic by rail. Created in 2002 instead of the liquidated state company Railtrack . Headquarters - in London.

The property of the company consists of railway tracks with a total length of 20 thousand miles (over 30 thousand km), an alarm system, bridges, overpasses, tunnels and about 2500 stations. The 17 largest railway stations in the country (11 of which are located in London) are operated directly by the operator. As of 2013, the railway network is divided into 10 routes: one each in Scotland and Wales, and eight routes in England, each starting from London.
