Shehsuvar-sultan (1682 [1] - 16 [2] or April 27, 1756 [3] [1] ) is the fourth wife of the Ottoman sultan Mustafa II , mother of the sultan Osman III [4] , Valide Sultan [5] .

Life
Shekhsuvar-sultan was born in 1682. Birth name - Maria [6] [7] . It was of Serbian [6] [7] or Russian [8] [9] origin. On January 2, 1699, at the age of 17, she gave birth to her only son - the future Sultan Osman III [4] . On June 22, 1701, daughter Emetullah Sultan was born [10] .
Most of her life was spent in the Old Palace, where she was sent after the deposition of her husband. I have not seen my child for 51 years, as the mothers were not allowed to see his son, who was imprisoned in Kafes, where he spent almost his entire life.
For two years she was a valid sultan [11] . She died on April 27, 1756, a year before her son died. She was buried in Shekhsuvar-Sultan's mausoleum in the Nuruosmaniye Mosque [12] .
