Biography
Mikhail Dryanichkin was born on December 4, 1909 in a village of Chinchurino (now Tetyushsky district of Tatarstan ) into a peasant family. After graduating from seven grades of the school, he worked in the field of agriculture. In 1931 - 1933 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, graduated from the school of junior commanders. In 1935, he was again called up for service. He participated in the Soviet-Finnish war . In 1940 he graduated from political courses, in 1943 - courses "Shot". By January 1945, Captain Mikhail Dryanichkin commanded a battalion of the 904th Infantry Regiment of the 245th Infantry Division of the 59th Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the forcing of the Oder [1] .
On January 31, 1945, the Dryanichkina battalion crossed the Oder to the southeast of the Polish city of Kendzezhin and seized the bridgehead on its western shore. The enemy launched a counterattack with large forces, but the battalion successfully repelled it. In that battle, Dryanichkin was seriously wounded, from whom he died on the same day of 1945. He was buried in the Polish city of Katowice [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 10, 1945, Captain Mikhail Dryanichkin was posthumously awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Orders of Lenin and Alexander Nevsky . [1] .
