Wonsaponatime (pun with the expression “Once upon a time” - a traditional “fairy-tale” introduction, corresponds to the Russian “Once upon a time ...” or “Once upon a time ...”) - a collection album with songs by John Lennon , released in 1998 simultaneously with John Lennon Anthology box set . The material presented in the collection is Lennon’s home demos, alternative (not matching officially released until this time) studio versions of songs (outtakes; English outtakes ) and other unreleased recordings made by Lennon during his solo (after the breakup of The Beatles ) career; in general, the collection is a selection of the best tracks from the box set, but many of the tracks in the collection are edited versions of the corresponding tracks of the box set.
Wonsaponatime didn’t make it to the USA album chart; in the UK album chart it rose to 76th place.
