Peter Dworski ( Slovakian Peter Dvorský; born September 25, 1951 , Partizansk , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak opera singer ( lyric tenor ) and teacher . Laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition ( 1974 ), Kammersenger ( 1986 , Austria ). In 2013, he was awarded the State Prize of Slovakia - the Cross of the Pribina Class I. He was awarded the medal "For Merit" of 1 degree (Czech Republic) .

Peter Dvorsky was born on September 25, 1951 in Partizansk , Czechoslovakia , Slovakia , and is a lyrical tenor . The singer's repertoire mainly consists of parts in operas by Italian and Slavic composers.

In 1969 - 1973, Peter Dvorsky studied at the Bratislava Conservatory in the class of Professor Ida Chernetskaya. As a student in 1972 he made his debut on the stage of the Slovak National Theater in the part of Lensky in Tchaikovsky ’s opera Eugene Onegin .

In 1973, the singer won the national singing competition in the Slovak city of Trnava , and in 1974 he became a laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition in the USSR in Moscow (5th prize). In 1975, the singer took first place in the International Music Competition in Geneva , as a result of which he trained for a year at the La Scala Theater in Milan under the direction of Renata Carozia and Giuseppe Lugga. In 1975 - 1976 he performed at the Vienna Opera . In 1977 he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in the part of Alfred in La Traviata , and a year later in La Scala . In 1981 - 1882 participated in the festival " Arena di Verona ". In 1985, he toured at the Bolshoi Theater , performing in the part of Enik in the opera “ Sold Bride ” by Sour Cream . He performed on the stages of theaters Arena di Verona , Covent Garden , and others.

Peter Dvorsky is a laureate of the State Prize of former Czechoslovakia . In 1986, in Austria, the singer was awarded the honorary title of Kammersenger . In 1999, the singer received the prize of the Minister of Culture for the performance of Andrew's part in the opera of the Slovak composer Eugen Suhony “Whirlpool”.

Since 2007, he has been conducting annual vocal master classes , which are part of the annual music festival in the city of Piestany in Slovakia .

Since 2006 he was the head of the opera house in the city of Kosice , in Slovakia , and since 2010 he has been the director of the opera of the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava . In 2012, Peter Dvorski received the CENTROPE prize for organizing and conducting the international nightly song contest “Slovak Nightingale”.

In 2013, Peter Dvorsky was awarded the Slovak State Prize - Class I Cross of the Pribina . He was awarded the medal "For Merit" of 1 degree (Czech Republic) .
