Carvelas, Nikos

Engaged in music since 5 years. He studied at the University of Athens at the Faculty of Law. In his student years, he founded a rock band under the influence of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones . He first became known for his compositions in the late 1970s .

In 1980, he met the famous Cypriot singer Anna Vissi . In 1983, they got married. Their first joint album “Κάτι Συμβαίνει” (“Something happened”) brought Anna an extremely resounding success.

Carvelas works a lot as a composer and lyricist. In addition to the many songs that he wrote for Anna, he also specially composed for her the first Greek rock opera Δαίμονες (Demons). It was based on the libretto of Stavros Sideras and walked on the stage of the Atticon Theater in Athens for two years. The opera was shown on various foreign television channels and attracted the attention of agents from Broadway ^[1] .

Since the beginning of the 80s , Anna has recorded over 14 albums with Nikos.

Karvelas also successfully collaborates with Tolis Voskopoulos and Sakis Rouvas , Paschalis Terzis .

Since 2011, collaborates with Heaven Music ^[2] . Nikos Carvelas conducts live performances with his rock band, which have their own unique, charismatic and completely unique style ^[3] .

In 2011, Karvelas released a new album Όλα είναι στο μυαλό, which included his own songs and a duet with Lakis Papadopoulos ^[4] .

From his first marriage with Anna Vissi , he has a daughter, Sofia ^[5] . In the nineties he spent a lot of time in London. Since 2006, Carvelas maintains relations with the popular TV presenter Annita Pania. In 2010, Carvelas married her. They have a son.

Nikos Carvelas is the creator of major hits and some of the most beautiful songs of Greek music of the last two decades.
