Career

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble , he took 29th place in the 15 km race, 15th place in the 30 km race and 7th place in the relay.

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Sapporo , became 6th in the relay.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck , he took 49th place in the 15 km race, 16th place in the 30 km race, 5th place in the 50 km race and started but did not finish in the relay.

Grimmer was especially successful at the world championships in 1970 and 1974 , in which he won 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze awards.
