Creation
The film writer Lawrence Koria worked as a psychologist before filming the film [2] . After inviting Michael Winterbottom to the position of screenwriter, he was instructed to create a script similar to Robert Altman ’s short stories , which the director was inspired to prepare for production [3] . Cameraman Sean Bobbitt was also tasked with recreating a similar atmosphere, despite the fact that he had not previously worked on feature films [4] .
The picture contains sharp combinations of realism and impressionism, inspired by the work of Wong Karwai " Chongqing Express " and reinforced by slow-motion and accelerated filming [4] . Hard and sharp sex scenes, not accompanied by musical accompaniment, give more realism [4] [3] .
