Holeworm [3] , or Porophyllum ( lat. Porophyllum ) is a genus of annual and perennial plants of the Asteraceae family , originating from the mountainous regions of Central and South America.

Small shrubs and shrubs up to 120 cm high with upright stems and about 100 cm wide. On oval leaves there are large glands that secrete a fragrant oily secretion, giving the plants a strong aroma. The flowers are yellow or whitish, sometimes greenish or purple in color.
Some species are used in cooking as aromatic plants.

Aztec use
In his fundamental work, The General History of the Affairs of New Spain ( 1547 - 1577 ), Bernardino de Sahagun , based on information from the Aztecs on the properties of plants, provided various information about the hole-leaf, in particular that:
There is another herb called papalocilitl . It is fragrant and tasty, it has round leaves; grows in hot places [4] .
