Cardiff voices

"Cardiff Voices" or "Singer of the World" is an international competition of BBC opera singers in Cardiff , Wales , United Kingdom . The competition is held with the support of the Welsh National Opera and the administration of the city and district of Cardiff since 1983 in June once every two years. Age of participants: from 18 to 32 years.

Prizes and awards

  • The winner of the competition is 15,000 pounds sterling and a memento.
  • Audience Award - 2000 Pounds
  • The prize for the finals is 2000 pounds each of the 20 contestants.
  • The prize for the best song is 5000 pounds sterling.
