Club career
Reggie began his career at Feyenoord in 1986. He spent ten seasons with the team including a rental season for Den Bosch . His famous bunch with teammate Gaston Taument from 1991 to 1996 scored 61 goals for two. As part of the Feyenoord, he became the champion of the Netherlands and the four-time winner of the Netherlands Cup .
On March 4, 1996, Blinker transferred to the English Sheffield Wensday . The transfer amount amounted to 275 thousand dollars. In his first match for a new club against Aston Villa , he scored a goal, but this ball did not help his team. At the end of 1996, Blinker earned a disqualification from FIFA for secretly signing a contract with the Italian Udinese .
At the peak of his career in England, Blinker signed a contract with a large sunglasses company. But later it turned out that company representatives mixed up Reggie with another famous football player Edgar Davids . In 1997, Blinker joined the Scottish Celtic , becoming part of the deal to transfer to Sheffield by Paolo Di Canio . In the new club, he was reunited with his Feyenord coach Wim Jansen . Reggie spent three seasons with the Celts and won the Scottish Championship and the Scottish League Cup with the club.
In the summer of 2000, Blinker returned to the Netherlands . Until 2003, he played for Sparta from Rotterdam and Roosendaal . After he played for the amateur club " Deltasport ", in which he ended his career at the age of 37 in 2006.
International Career
On March 24, 1993, in the 1994 World Cup qualifying match against San Marino Blinker, he made his debut with the Netherlands . He spent 3 matches for the national team .
