History
The group was founded in 2009 by Dominica Hellstrom and Iggy Hans, to this day making up the ideological brain of the group [1] . Among the performers who influenced the formation of the Crimson Blue style, participants called the classic progressive rock and art rock groups Yes , Genesis , Gentle Giant , modern metal artists Korn and Tool , as well as post-rock bands Katatonia and Anathema [2] . The musicians chose the name Crimson Blue, considering it "decisive and ultimate."
In May 2009, the group gave a debut concert in the Moscow club “XO” and began work on a demo album Iceland , which, due to constant changes in the composition, was delayed for a year and a half. The record began to be distributed via the Internet only in the fall of 2010. In the summer of 2011, Crimson Blue recorded the debut full-length album Innocence at the Moscow studio Destroy The Humanity [3] . The presentation of the album took place on January 8, 2012. In April 2012, the band signed a contract with M2BA , the Innocence CD was released by Molot Records / Irond Records . February 16, 2013 Crimson Blue performed as the opening act for the legendary Swedish progressive metal band Pain of Salvation. A series of successful performances at various festivals followed. However, in the summer of that year, the group was forced to take a short time out due to the next change in composition. At the same time, Andrey Nova, who at that time was a vocalist in the famous Moscow prog-modern metal band Nova Art, joined the band as a guitarist. March 21, 2014 Crimson Blue played their set, before the performance of Tarja Turunen. Currently, the second full-length album of the group is being prepared for publication.
Crimson Blue does not stand still, and move forward at an incredible pace. In just about two years, this team managed to release a second album, perform at the opening act of the Swedish industrial group Deathstars (and many other world famous artists), take part in the qualifying round for the rock festival in Maloyaroslavets, and tour Europe together with Tarja Turunen at the end of 2014, and to release a new, already third album, for which she was preparing very long and very seriously.
The presentation of the third and, inherent to the group, the band's unusually vivid album The Angelic Performance thundered on January 29, 2015 in the large hall of the Teatr club. This event was a bewitching and exciting action, a storm of emotions and drive engulfing the Moscow audience. The performance was saturated with the spirit of the post-apocalypse, like the album itself. The graceful silhouettes of the musicians, menacingly and majestically frozen in front of the hall at the beginning of their performance, literally broke the silence of the room, announcing their long-awaited appearance, and conveying the atmosphere of unbridledness of the destroyed world, chained the enchanted spectators to the stage, and not letting them go to the very end. The team was presented by an equally interesting Amortem group.
The album was released thanks to the support of the Italian recording studio.
Sometimes Crimson Blue is played in acoustics.
Since the beginning of 2015, the group opened the doors of its personal studio to everyone who wants to learn musical skills from the members of the collective themselves, and conduct their rehearsals and recordings.
On April 24 and 25, 2015, the group performed with the Dutch EPICA team in two Russian capitals.
