Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona ( born Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona ; born March 7, 1953 ) is a Trinidad-Tobagian judge and politician. 5th President of Trinidad and Tobago from March 18, 2013 to March 19, 2018. He was the only candidate in the 2013 indirect presidential election . The electoral college voted unanimously for him. Carmona took over as President of Trinidad and Tobago on March 18, 2013 after a public oath ceremony at the Hazley Crawford Stadium. Carmona became the 5th president of the country [1] , succeeding George Maxwell Richards .
