The film premiered at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival , where the film was awarded the main prize - the Golden Bear [1] [2] [3] . In August 2013, Romania sent a picture to fight for the Oscar in the nomination “ Best Foreign Language Film ” [4] , but it was not included on the short list even from nine tapes.
Content
Story
Barbu exceeds the maximum permissible speed by 50 km / h and knocks a young man to death. For this, he faces a sentence of 3 to 15 years. Trying to protect his son, his strong, enterprising and partly tyrannical mother intervenes in the matter.
