Biography
Anatoly Drobakha was born on October 19, 1924 in the village of Rusalovka (now Mankovsky district of the Cherkasy region of Ukraine ) in a peasant family. He graduated from high school, then the school of factory apprenticeship in Kiev . In August 1941, Drobakh was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since March 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By February 1945, Petty Officer Anatoly Drobakha commanded the guns of the 823rd artillery regiment of the 301st rifle division of the 9th rifle corps of the 5th shock army of the 1st Belorussian front . He distinguished himself during the forcing of the Oder [1] .
February 3 - 4, 1945, during fights on the bridgehead on the western shore of the Oder in the vicinity of the village of Neubarnim , 11 kilometers east of Vritsen, the calculation of Drobakhi knocked out 5 German tanks, 1 armored personnel carrier , and also destroyed enemy soldiers near the company. In the battle, Drobach was wounded, but continued to fight [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown", Sergeant Anatoly Drobakh was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 5649 [1] .
In 1945, Drobakh was demobilized. In 1948 he graduated from a party school under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine. In 1951 - 1956 he again served in the Soviet Army, was transferred to the reserve with the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1962, Drobakh graduated from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU, in 1965 - Poltava State University. He lived and worked in Cherkasy . He died on December 8, 1984, was buried in Cherkasy [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Red Star , along with a number of medals [1] .
