History
The minting of canton coins in batzen began in 1808, in francs - in 1809. The cruisers were minted only in 1813, the Pfennig - in 1816.
The Swiss Constitution, adopted in 1848, established the exclusive right of the federal government to mint coins. By this time, half-canton coins were no longer issued, their minting was stopped in 1816. On May 7, 1850, a federal law on the minting of coins was adopted; in the same year, minting of Swiss coins was started [1] .
Half-canton banknotes were not issued in 1808-1850. The cantonal bank of Ausserroden was created in 1877, issued banknotes in 1877-1910 [2] .
