Puerto Cabezas ( Spanish: Puerto Cabezas ) is a city and municipality in northeastern Nicaragua , the administrative center of the autonomous region of the Atlantic North .

Geographical position
The city is located in the east of the department, on the coast of the Caribbean Sea , about 536 km from Managua . The absolute height is 7 meters above sea level [1] .
The city climate is tropical monsoon with a significant amount of precipitation throughout the year except for the short dry season, which lasts from March to April. Average temperatures range from 24.5 ° C in February to 27.8 ° C in May. The annual rainfall is 2799 mm [2] .
