Geography
The village is located on the right bank of the Klyazma , 3 km east of Vyazniki , from the north to the village there are remnants of the ancient Russian settlement of Yaropolch-Zalessky .
History
The first information about the church in this village is in the Patriarchal Salary Books of 1656, where the Church of St. Sergius the Wonderworker was celebrated in the birthplace of the Trinity Sergius Monastery . According to the census books of 1678 in the village of Pirov Gorodishchi there were the monastery courtyard, 8 yards of the monastic babies, 13 peasant yards and 2 bobyls. In 1706, a warm wooden church in the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah was built and consecrated in the Pirate Settlements, and in 1711 the church in the name of St. Sergius was built again. The village of Pirov Towns belonged to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery until 1764. In 1806, instead of these two wooden churches, a stone temple was built in the Settlements. There were three altars in the church: the main one - in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh, in the aisles of the warm ones - in the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah and in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God. In the village of Pirov Gorodishchi since 1889 there was a parochial school, the number of pupils in 1897 was 29 [2] .
Before the revolution, the village was part of the Oltushevsky volost of the Vyazniki district .
During the years of Soviet power, the central estate of the Rodina collective farm. In the village were shooting the film " From the Life of Fyodor Kuzkin ".
